Keen to get out in Yorkshire again and to climb some stuff i've not done before we headed to Rylstone, myself, Jon, Johnny and Jim headed up the hill. The intention was to look at the Rylstone crack area, unfortunately it was sopping so me and Jim moved furter along the crag to the first area Face Saviour which is a HVS that i led with an E3 up the wall next to it, a bit eliminatey to be honest although good rock and different rock but not massively impressed.

I soloed an excellent E1 called Solo Games a bit further on it was nicely committing but with reasonably positive holds, really enjoyed it. In the same area we also soloed a much scarier severe called pancake slab which traverse above space and was very atmospheric as the wind rushed by. A bit escapable in places but good value the other excelent solo was the niche which climbed some massive scoops in the grit looking a bit like an ice cream scoop had taken a lump out of it, great moves.
The final and best route though was the definitive gritstone chimney absolutely superb fun, once you got wedged in you wiggled and just popped out of the top, great stuff and great to be out in Yorkshire again.
