Robin Proctor's - low grade sport fun

A view across the crag which was quite busy

I ventured out today on my dodgy foot, i think it will be fine - the bruising has come through but it not massively swollen - just a bit uncomfortable on the heel, not enough to keep me in on such a beautiful day.
Tim came up and we headed out to Robin Proctor's Scar as it was on my list of places to visit and had lots of low grade stuff and was only 15 mins walk in so good for my foot. We set to work - warming up on a 6a called Flying Horseman and another called Tombstone blues  following them with a couple of really quality 6a+ routes  Wheels on Fire "probably the best route of this grade in Yorkshire. Grassy Ledges lead to..." Was actually really good with an excellent sequence through some flakey holds. We then did the other 3* 6a + The Inertia Syndrome revisited which was again excellent - slightly more sustained but technically easier. I then fell asleep for a bit whilst Wilky scouted the crag and found the line of Central Buttress 6b which was fine if a bit too escapable and tricky to work out where to go. Final lead was a 6b+ and 2* route called the Marshall Plan which incidentally gets 6c in rockfax. I was very very pleased to on-sight this as wasn't sure what form i was on - it was very satisfying as it had quite a technical sequence on small holds. It was a good way to end the session - i was going to top rope the 7a+ of Forever Young but it got cold and some dude wanted to do a route around it so we sacked it and hobbled back to the car. A good day out - second day of sport this year and hopefully more to come.  Robin Proctor's was good, although you got the feeling it was loose in parts - i would bring a helmet next time but will definitely return.

Tim on the final route of the day The Marshall plan 6b+ or 6c for ego purposes
